How It Works

Architectural Drawings to Permit-Ready Structural Design in 3 Steps

Getting started with Genia is fast and easy. Receive AI-suggested design options in mins, collaborate with AI to refine designs, and export structural outputs 10x faster.
Step - 1
Upload & Parse
Upload architectural drawings in CAD or BIM formats. Genia's AI automatically identifies architectural elements like walls, windows, doors, openings and stairs. Review and correct any parsing with intuitive editing tools.
Step - 2
Generate & Analyze
Genia's AI generates 100s structural layout options, each validated through detailed structural calculations following the relevant building codes. Review 3-5 recommendations to achieve the optimal cost-performance balance.
Step - 3
Edit & Export
Customize design parameters, modify layouts, rerun structural analysis, and export permit-ready structural drawings in CAD or BIM formats with detailed calculation sheets and material take-offs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Genia Structural AI Agent?

Genia Structural AI Agent is a co-pilot for structural engineers that accelerates your workflow. It transforms DWG architectural drawings into interactive models, automatically generates multiple design options, and lets you refine the plan before exporting construction-ready drawings and calculation sheets.

Who is Genia for? Do you provide stamps on structural designs?

Genia is built for structural engineering professionals, from solo practitioners to engineering firms. As a software provider, Genia does NOT stamp your drawings. If you want to work with an AI-augmented engineer in our network, you can submit your projects on the Find AI+ Engineer page.

How do I create an account?

Visit our website to sign up for a Free Trial account. All new accounts start with 100 free credits to use on your first project, allowing you to experience the platform's full capabilities.

What's the end-to-end workflow in Genia?

1. Project Creation: Input key project parameters, environmental data, and material constraints.
2. Architectural Modeling: Upload a DWG and refine the AI-generated architectural model.
3. Generate Options: Let the AI engine generate and compare multiple, valid structural options based on cost, DCR, and constructibility.
4. Review & Edit: Select an option, modify it in the Structural Editor, and re-run the analysis to verify performance.
5. Export: Download the final DWG structural drawings and PDF calculation sheets.

We've heard AI can "hallucinate." How does Genia ensure its designs are structurally valid?

We solve this by pairing our generative AI with a purely rule-based structural analysis engine, in the SAME way as you'd have done manually. The AI generates potential layouts, and the analysis engine acts as a "guardrail," running traditional calculations to validate each option. This process filters out any non-viable designs, ensuring all recommended options are structurally valid.

What file format do I need to start a project?

Genia requires the DWG file format for architectural plan uploads. This format contains essential data like layers and dimensions that our AI needs for accurate model generation. PDFs are NOT supported for upload.

Does Genia provide a professional engineering stamp?

No, Genia is a software tool and does not act as the engineer of record.
- For Structural Engineering Firms: A designated reviewer within your firm can have their digital stamp automatically applied to drawings they approve via the platform's review workflow.
- For Architects & Developers: Our Genia Network connects you with professional engineering firms that use our platform. Submit your project on the Find AI+ Engineer page, and a Genia-powered firm will reach out to you soon and provide you the design and stamping services.

What are the final deliverables I can export?

You can export two primary deliverables:
- Structural Drawings (DWG): A complete and detailed set of structural plans.
- Calculation Sheets (PDF): A comprehensive calculation report.

How does collaboration work on team plans?

Team and Enterprise plans feature a formal project review workflow. Designers submit work to a designated reviewer for feedback and approval. The project is locked from further editing during the review process to ensure quality control.

What can an Admin do in a Team Workspace?

Admins have full control over the workspace, including:
- Inviting and removing team members.
- Managing the team's consolidated billing.
- Granting "Reviewer" permissions to specific members.

What are the different subscription plans?

Please refer to the Pricing page.

How do credits work?

Credits are used to start new projects, with a minimum of 100 credits required to begin. After project creation, all subsequent editing, analysis, and exporting are free of any further credit cost. If you need to update the architectural drawings, you can simply re-upload, completely FREE of charge.

How can I get more credits?

You can earn 200 credits for both you and a friend for each new user you refer. Admins on the Team plan can also purchase additional credits if the monthly pool is depleted.
